Digital Nomad Visa income requirement in Spain, 2026

The rule is 200% of the Spanish minimum wage per month. The euro figure depends on how the minimum wage is expressed, and sources disagree.
The rule
A joint instruction from the consular and migration authorities (30 March 2023) says the holder must show "an amount that represents monthly 200% of the SMI". For a household of two (holder plus one person) the requirement is at least 75% of the SMI on top; each further member adds 25%. The 2026 SMI
Real Decreto 126/2026 sets the SMI at 1.221 EUR per month, paid in 14 instalments, so 17.094 EUR per year. Source: Real Decreto 126/2026, art. 1 (BOE no. 44, 19 Feb 2026).
Why you see 2.442 and 2.849

Reading A matches the table the Spanish consulate in Hanoi publishes from 19 February 2026 (2.442 / 915,75 / 305,25): SMI table, Spanish consulate in Hanoi (from 19/02/2026). Reading B comes from 17.094 x 200% = 34.188 EUR a year, which many guides then divide by 12. Figures like 2.650 or 2.762 that appear elsewhere belong to older SMI values or other mixes of 12 and 14 payments, and we could not tie them to the 2026 text.
The instruction itself does not say which to use. Older consular documents show both habits: one cites an annual SMI, another a monthly amount.
What to plan for
- If your income comfortably exceeds Reading B, you are covered either way.
- If it sits between A and B, the consulate that receives your file matters. Check its own table.
- Income is judged "individually". A work contract, firm job offer or commercial contract tied to the activity can be used, and you must show ownership, legality and availability of any funds used as proof.
